The=0D=0APenske File began in earnest a handful of years later at a memorial=0D=0Ashow following the tragic passing of their best friend and former=0D=0Asecond guitarist, Chris Skinner, “whose spirit and memory remains=0D=0Athe driveshaft of inspiration of the band to this day,” according to=0D=0AMiles. Since their inception in 2010, they have been turning out an=0D=0Aever evolving blend of heartfelt and anthemic Punk, Alt- Rock, Indie=0D=0Aand Folk infused sounds. This evolution is starkly apparent on their=0D=0Alatest effort, aptly titled “Reprieve,” which features 12 brand=0D=0Anew songs, expanding on the sonic and thematic realms the band has=0D=0Atouched upon in their lifespan and bringing them to new heights.=0D=0A“The writing and recording of Reprieve was unique to our previous=0D=0Arecords in many ways,” says Miles, “for one, there was over a five=0D=0Ayear gap since we wrote the songs for our last record ‘Half Glow.’=0D=0AWe were really chomping at the bit to get back at it and there were so=0D=0Amany songs and ideas waiting in the wings to be explored.
