He appeared=0D=0Aon records alongside Randy Brecker, John Abercrombie, Dan Wall, Jeremy=0D=0ASteig, David Earle Johnson, Adam Nussbaum, David Friesen, Ira=0D=0ASullivan, Andy Laverne, Danny Gottlieb – gigging with (in addition=0D=0Ato the above) John Scofield, Dave Liebman, Tom Harrell, Jaco=0D=0APastorius, Andy Laverne, Nasheet Waits, Gerald Cleaver, Franco=0D=0AAmbrosetti, Aydin Esen, and many others. As a member of the Miroslav=0D=0AVitous Quartet, touring Europe, played on three of his CDs on ECM=0D=0ARecords. He taught at University of Miami (1982 – 1993), Florida=0D=0AInternational University (1993 – present), and the Aebersold Summer=0D=0AJazz Workshops (1987 – 2010). Gary has published six books: 1)=0D=0APatterns for Jazz, co-authored w/ Jerry Coker; 2) Expansions – A=0D=0AMethod for Developing New Material for Improvisation; 3) Hank Mobley=0D=0ATranscribed Solos; 4) Connecting Jazz Theory; 5) Triad Pairs for Jazz;=0D=0Aand 6) Pentatonic Scales – An In- Depth Look at Deriving and=0D=0AApplying Pentatonic Scales for Improvisation and Composition. He has=0D=0Abeen awarded three Fulbright Awards in Europe – Berlin, Vienna, and=0D=0ABudapest, and presented throughout Europe and Latin America, as well=0D=0Aas three IAJE Annual World Conventions, JEN Conventions, and in=0D=0AColleges and Universities world- wide. He is a Full Professor of Jazz=0D=0APerformance at Florida International University in Miami.=0D=0A=0D=0AGary recently released “Moments” duets with Mike Gerber, available=0D=0Aon Spotify and Apple Music=0D=0A
