Though Horse Lords grew out of the fertile Baltimore noise=0D=0Aand leftfield rock scene, a storied environment for artists and=0D=0Aweirdos that has nurtured many an influential outsider band (Lungfish,=0D=0AMatmos), their approach is more omnivorous than the stippled rhythms=0D=0Aof instrumental electric rock would indicate. For their second studio=0D=0Aalbum on RVNG Intl., Demand To Be Taken To Heaven Alive!, Horse Lords=0D=0Ahave followed this notion and augmented the instrumentation, expanding=0D=0Athe format across a program of twelve original compositions. Press=0D=0Apickups: Pitchfork, Stereogum, The Quietus=0D=0A=0D=0AViolin, pedals, synthesizers , drums, triggers, pads, cowbells, and=0D=0Ametal sheets make up the sonic arsenal of Los Sara Fontan. The duo,=0D=0Aformed by Sara Fontan and Edi Pou, bases its creative process on the=0D=0Aanalog and digital manipulation of acoustic sound. Their practice is=0D=0Arooted in improvisation, the use of error as opportunity, and the=0D=0Aphysicality of the body and its sonic extensions as a source of raw=0D=0Amaterial.
