Sometimes these talents are immediately apparent, sometimes they are hinted at, or hidden, only visible at second glance. In Hamburg, where Monument Day extends to the entire weekend, interested parties can learn about the city's heritage culture through a diverse program consisting of lectures, tours, and cultural and family activities. In Hamburg, the Hamburg Monument Preservation Foundation organizes the event together with the Monument Protection Office. The German Monument Protection Foundation coordinates the event nationwide. As part of the "European Heritage Days," it is held under the patronage of the Council of Europe and takes place across Europe in September.
