Wilhelm Heinrich Schüßler strictly distanced himself from homeopathy with his treatment method. During his lifetime, there were many disputes with homeopaths who rejected his treatment method simply because of its simplicity and spoke contemptuously of fertilizers.
According to Schüßler, a pathogenic stimulus causes a cell to intensify its activity as it strives to reject the stimulus. This activity leads to a loss of some of its mineral functional substances. These cells are then pathologically altered, which is the essence of disease.
