On Saturday, August 1, 2026, Atelier Wipke in Hamburg-Rothenburgsort will open its doors to art enthusiasts, collectors, and anyone looking for inspiration from modern abstract painting.
As part of an open studio day, artist and studio founder Wibke Bein-Wierzbinski will present her latest works in contemporary abstract acrylic painting. The large- and medium-format works are characterized by flowing palettes, vibrant compositions, and a unique dynamism. Associations with nature—such as water, wind, light, fog, and landscapes—are not depicted representationally but are instead made tangible as atmospheric spaces of movement.
Wibke’s painting is shaped by her long-standing exploration of movement, bodily awareness, and development. These experiences flow directly into her art. Movement becomes not only visible but also palpable. The works open up space for individual interpretation and invite viewers to discover their own thoughts, memories, and emotions within the color compositions.
Visitors have the opportunity to view the current works in a relaxed atmosphere, learn more about the creative processes behind the paintings, and engage in personal conversation with the artist. The focus is on both artistic questions and the impact of color, movement, and spatial design.
Atelier Wipke sees itself as a place of encounter, inspiration, and perception. The exhibited works are suitable for private living spaces as well as for medical practices, businesses, hotels, or other architecture-related spaces where atmosphere, openness, and visual identity play a special role.
