Fairytale magic, sonic fantasy, and profound emotion: As part of the Martha Argerich Festival, a concert program brimming with poetic contrasts unfolds in the Grand Hall of the Laeiszhalle.
Mikhail Pletnev has unfortunately had to cancel his appearance at this concert for personal reasons. Instead of the performance with Martha Argerich that had been planned, she will now perform with Stephen Kovacevich and Jing Zhao respectively. Tickets already purchased remain valid.
With Bohuslav Martinů’s colorful trio, the flute, cello, and piano open up a dialogic soundscape, before Maurice Ravel’s »Ma mère l’oye« conjures up fairy-tale worlds through the four-handed magic of Martha Argerich and Baruch Meir. The first part concludes with Leoš Janáček’s rhythmically dazzling »Concertino«, which poignantly combines chamber music virtuosity with surprising timbres.
