"Flowers along the way – mutilated with a saw," sing DIE EIALKEIT from Hamburg. Singer and songwriter Oscar – formerly Oscar and Vanity – now a band!
Also joining them are old friends from the La Pochette Surprise universe: Martin (Swutscher) on drums, Christian (Dunya) on bass, Obi on synth and Julian on lead guitar.

The metaphor of mutilation is a literary and musical program. Collage technique reflects fragmented experiences of reality. First, poetic early Romanticism, then dehumanized Expressionism. Between "flowers and sunshine" and "selfless, nerveless, full of fear and tears"—country and folk dissolve into the drone of monotonous krautrock riffs, drifting into spacey synths and feedback noise. Add to that: exuberant drunkenness and psychedelic bossa nova. The enemy of this poetic worldview is, and always has been, alienated labor: the invincibility of capitalism mutilates the subject. The result is fragmented country sadness: NoCountry!

Musically inspired by Silver Jews, with excursions into dreampop - sometimes they sound like Element of Crime.

Off the beaten track. Peculiar. Deviant. These are common states in a world that is constantly evolving and where progress is accelerating at breakneck speed. Consistency has become an unknown variable, leaving countless people behind. Joe Astray is an artist who successfully embraces this multifaceted dilemma and reflects it through sincere and authentic indie music. The singer-songwriter is a musical nomad whose music is a true kaleidoscope, boldly traveling through the annals of music history and incorporating dozens of its elements. Heavy, socially critical lyrics blend with volatile, unpredictable compositions to create a damn exciting mix that bears an unmistakable signature. Joe Astray processes everyday situations and the thoughts that accompany them, and in particular, the music industry and its absurd seriousness are dissected with biting yet charming humor. What's particularly interesting is Joe Astray 's enigmatic vocal accent, which can never be definitively attributed to any specific geography. The former singer of the Hamburg band fluppe is a true DIY enthusiast, having taught himself everything and honed his musical skills through regular touring. His influences range from The Eels and Leonard Cohen to the sardonic, socially critical humor of Billy Bragg, but a clear punk rock DNA is undeniably present in Joe Astray's work. His name says it all: Joe Astray is everyone and no one at the same time, writing songs for the landless and dispossessed, a walking mystery that defies categorization, and who, despite all the darkness, still holds a candle of hope aloft.
