Indiecon 2026 – Independent Publishing Festival

Indiecon, the Independent Publishing Festival, is taking place for the 13th time: Over 130 magazines, zines, and books from more than 25 countries to discover, browse through, and buy.
From September 4 to 6, 2026, Indiecon will transform the Gleishalle in Hamburg’s Oberhafen into a three-day gathering place for independent magazines, books, zines, art prints, newsletters, podcasts, and digital publications from around the world.
The focus is on the Indiecon fair: More than 130 independent publishers from over 15 German cities and more than 25 countries will showcase and sell their work here. Visitors can stroll through the booths, chat with the publishers, and discover publications that aren’t available on any traditional magazine rack. Admission to the fair is free, and drop-in visits without registration are welcome.
The fair is complemented by the Indiecon Conference: Over two days (Friday, September 4, and Saturday morning, September 5), it offers talks, workshops, and roundtables for industry professionals and ticket holders. Tickets are available starting at 19 euros.
The Gleishalle Oberhafen is a former freight rail yard in the heart of HafenCity and is accessible to wheelchair users, an accessible restroom is available.
