Homes, Houses, Hotbeds

Homes, Houses, Hotbeds

  • Free of charge

Homes, Houses, Hotbeds brings artists and thinkers together to challenge commonly held conceptions of shelter. It asks from what fabric protection is woven from, and how architecture in public space can speak to the city’s inhabitants. Spread across two exhibitions in MOM Art Space and hinterconti as well as selected locations in the city of Hamburg, sculptures, installations, films, paintings, and participatory performances thematicize vulnerability and resistance within our home and living spheres.

Jumping off from histories that are materially and architecturally grounded, the works open up zones of movement and changes in perspective. By using found objects, working with abandoned sites and architecture or through observing everyday scenarios from one’s own window, these are all fragile scaffolding to encounter familiar structures and formations.

A series of talks, art actions, and workshops accompany the exhibition program. We warmly invite you to join us to encounter and activate these art projects.
