The DOM is a piece of Hamburg's tradition and a guarantor for playing, fun, thrill and nostalgia. The term DOM goes back to the 14th centry when a gathering of dealers, craftsmen and jugglers, who - after a couple of frictions - were allowed to linger in the Marien Church when the weather was rainy. Towards the end of the 19th century, the showmen found their "new home" on the Heiligengeistfeld.
