with Helge Masch - Wandsbek Botanical Garden - Poisonous plants are ubiquitous in nature!

The event series "Garden Knowledge @home" takes place online via Zoom.

Every day, poison control centers in Germany receive numerous inquiries, including questions about various plants. This guided tour on poisonous plants provides insight into this topic, which causes considerable uncertainty for many people. The tour will present poisonous plants found in homes and gardens, as well as in parks and the natural environment.

Poisonous plants are plants whose effects are detrimental to human health. This guide provides an overview of plants that pose a risk of poisoning if ingested. Monkshood, giant hogweed, and hemlock transmit their toxic substances through skin contact. The guide also explains how to identify poisonous plants.
