Frieden in Stimmen - Neuer Knabenchor Hamburg und Chor Malven – Ukrainischer Chor Hamburg
an event of the series Nacht der Kirchen
Saturday, 12/09/2026 / 07:00 PM - 08:00 PM / St. Johannis-Harvestehude
As part of the Night of the Churches, the Hamburg Boys' Choir, conducted by Jens Bauditz, and the Ukrainian choir Malven, conducted by Inha Seferovska, will present a joint concert on the theme of peace. Highlights of the evening include the joint performances of both choirs: a Ukrainian song and Ingeborg Ahrenkiel's peace song, which will conclude the concert. The voices of the young singers will unite diverse cultural backgrounds into a musical symbol of solidarity, hope, and understanding. From the Elbphilharmonie to St. Michael's Church, from St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna to St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, the Hamburg Boys' Choir's music resonates around the world. Founded in 1991 at the Hamburg State Youth Music School, it is now one of the most renowned boys' choirs in Northern Germany. The Ukrainian choir "MALVEN" has been based in Hamburg since June 2022, established on the initiative of the association for German-Ukrainian cooperation, "Feine Ukraine" (Fine Ukraine). The choir was formed at a time when many Ukrainians were fleeing the war. Pain, loss, longing for their homeland, and concern for their loved ones brought them together to preserve what no one can take from them – their songs and their music.
