For Melbourne indie rock band Floodlights, all their dreams seem to be coming true: Louis Parsons, Ashlee Kehoe, Archie Shannon, Joe Draffen, and Sarah Hellyer now routinely play sold-out shows in their home country and tour the world for highly anticipated performances. They've also signed a record deal with the internationally renowned indie label [PIAS] Recordings and even received a nomination for Australia's most prestigious music award. This accolade is more than deserved, given their honest, unvarnished lyrics, the compelling voice of lead singer Louis Parsons, woven into multi-layered harmonies (with bandmate Sarah Hellyer), and underpinned by melancholic indie rock, post-punk, and folk sounds.

These genuine, intimate lyrics, deeply moving vocals, and captivating rhythms ensure that Floodlights' live performances, in particular, linger in the memory. Since forming in 2018, they have released one EP and three albums, and their work remains centered on stirring, moving, and poetic songwriting. Fortunately, music fans worldwide recognized this potential with their first EP, "Backyard," in 2019; they bought every single physical copy. Their debut album, "From a View," was released in 2020, and Floodlights' songs became increasingly popular among music lovers, leading to sold-out shows and appearances at Australian festivals. The year 2023 proved pivotal: their second album, "Painting of My Time," was released, and Floodlights pooled all their savings to play live at SXSW, the world's largest music showcase, in Austin, Texas. True to the motto "nothing ventured, nothing gained," Floodlights showed courage and went all in, as their releases up to that point had been without the support of a major label. This was finally about to change thanks to the Texas festival and their third album, released by the label [PIAS].

Always on the move, Floodlights processed experiences like touring and traveling, as well as their early experiences as a band, on their album "Underneath" (2025); all the things that make life worth living as a musician and as a person. Furthermore, themes such as personal turmoil, Australian identities, and the vast landscapes of their homeland find their way into their songs, serving as a means of escaping the bleak reality. With "Underneath," they first climbed the Australian album charts. However, it is still the concerts that provide Floodlights with their energy and motivation. Highlights of their live career include support slots for The Killers, Pavement, Amyl & the Sniffers, and Black Midi. After gigs at local festivals like the Reeperbahn Festival and Rolling Stone Beach, and their last German tour in autumn 2025, Floodlights are finally returning to Germany this June for concerts in Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt, and Haldern!
