SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:COLONIALISM VOL 3 – Geschichten die bleiben
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:SPOM International Theatre Festival for Young Audiences=0D=0A[Kenya / Germany]=0D=0A=0D=0A“Do you love chocolate and enjoy riding your bike to school? And do=0D=0Ayou know where chocolate and the rubber for your bike tires come=0D=0Afrom?”=0D=0A=0D=0AIn 2022, Wangari Grace – an internationally renowned storyteller –=0D=0Aand Hamburg-based musician Sven Kacirek developed a musical oral=0D=0Ahistory performance about the colonial period from 1870 to 1960. The=0D=0Astory was told from the perspective of different African cultures. A=0D=0Asequel focused more strongly on the impact of colonialism on the=0D=0Apresent day. Now, Kacirek, together with Wangari and illustrator Dan=0D=0AYessa, has published the book "Colonialsim - How Afrika fought back."=0D=0ATo mark the book's release, we are presenting a German-language=0D=0Aversion of this storytelling performance, featuring German-Ghanaian=0D=0Aactress Charity Collin and accompanied by an exhibition of Dan Yessa's=0D=0Aillustrations. The format was deliberately chosen, as oral tradition=0D=0Awas the most popular method on the African continent for passing on=0D=0Aknowledge and experience from one generation to the next before the=0D=0Acolonial powers took control. Despite the seriousness of the subject=0D=0Amatter, the story is told in a child-friendly and thoughtful manner.=0D=0A=0D=0AA co-production of KinderKinder eV and the Munich Kammerspiele. Funded=0D=0Aby the International Co-production Fund (IKF) of the Goethe-Institut.=0D=0A=0D=0ATEXT=0D=0A_Sven Kacirek=0D=0AWangari Grace_=0D=0A=0D=0AMUSIC=0D=0A_Sven Kacirek_=0D=0A=0D=0AILLUSTRATIONS=0D=0A_Dan Jessa_=0D=0A=0D=0AVIDEO=0D=0A_Sven Kacirek_=0D=0A
