SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Karen Kilimnik in the Kunstverein
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Throughout her œuvre, Kilimnik has integrated things as disparate as=0D=0Aclassical ballet, landscapes, and Old Master traditions with modern=0D=0Asociety. Drawing on fairy tales, baroque paintings, and newspapers,=0D=0Aand working across a range of media, Kilimnik’s visual language is=0D=0Aat once colourful, delicate, and enigmatic, unfolding a character=0D=0Athat is unmistakably her own. As the first survey in Germany in over=0D=0A25 years, the exhibition brings together several decades of=0D=0AKilimnik’s work across a range of media, including oil paintings,=0D=0Aworks on paper, and mises-en-scène.=0D=0A=0D=0AKaren Kilimnik in the Kunstverein forms one of two coordinated yet=0D=0Adistinct exhibitions, developed in cooperation with Centro per l'Arte=0D=0AContemporanea Luigi Pecci, Prato, which create a joint survey of=0D=0AKilimnik’s recent and historical works.=0D=0A
