SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Juli Zeh
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Juli Zeh’s new novel, »Pony Show«, premieres on 11 October 2026 in=0D=0Athe Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall. Together with electropop duo WEZN and=0D=0Athe SALO String Quartet, and directed by Linda Belinda Podszus, Zeh=0D=0Ahas created an evening that goes far beyond a conventional book=0D=0Apresentation. Literature, electronic music and string quartet come=0D=0Atogether in a stage adaptation developed specifically for the novel.=0D=0AWords become sound, music becomes commentary, and reading, concert and=0D=0Aperformance merge into a crossover production that brings »Pony=0D=0AShow« to the stage for the first time. =0D=0A=0D=0APLEASE NOTE: the event will be held in German.=0D=0A=0D=0AFramed by this literary and musical production, Juli Zeh talks to=0D=0Aauthor Justus Maria about the making of the novel and the questions at=0D=0Athe heart of the story. In »Pony Show«, prominent publisher Bethany=0D=0A»Betty« Hell comes under suspicion of murdering her much younger=0D=0Aemployee and alleged lover, Fero Lebed. Betty and Fero are a perfect=0D=0Ateam – and a dangerous liaison on very thin ice. When the so-called=0D=0A»Loverboy case« becomes a media sensation and goes before a Hamburg=0D=0Ajury court, Mark Steinert takes on Betty’s defence. It is the most=0D=0Aimportant case of his career – and one that increasingly turns his=0D=0Aown life upside down.=0D=0A=0D=0APERFORMERS=0D=0A=0D=0AJULI ZEH reading=0D=0A=0D=0AWEZN band=0D=0A=0D=0AMAISCHAPERDELWITZ vocals=0D=0A=0D=0APAULRICHTER drums, live electronics=0D=0A=0D=0ASALO QUARTETT string quartet=0D=0A=0D=0ALOTTENEICK violin=0D=0A=0D=0AMARLENFISCHER violin=0D=0A=0D=0ACAROLINEWICHMANN viola=0D=0A=0D=0AAMELIERASCHKE violoncello=0D=0A=0D=0AJUSTUSMARIA talk=0D=0A=0D=0ALINDA BELINDAPODSZUS stage direction=0D=0A
