SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Night Shifts 6 with Anja Dietmann, Nschotschi Haslinger, Gesa Troch
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Falling asleep is among the most solitary and universal human=0D=0Aexperiences. It marks the moment we relinquish daytime consciousness=0D=0Aand its illusion of control, allowing ourselves to drift into=0D=0Asomething shadowy and unknown. Thoughts become fluid, boundaries blur,=0D=0Aand inner images rearrange themselves through a web of associations.=0D=0AThe space between wakefulness and sleep is a threshold, where multiple=0D=0Astates of consciousness intermingle and perception subtly shifts.=0D=0A=0D=0AAcross cultures and eras, people have marked transitions through=0D=0Arituals – weddings, funerals, or religious rites that signal the=0D=0Apassage from childhood to youth. In daily life, these rituals appear=0D=0Aas evening habits: storytelling, bedtime reading, or singing lullabies=0D=0Ato children. Contemporary sleep research likewise recommends fixed=0D=0Aroutines to help ease the transition into sleep, especially for those=0D=0Astruggling with insomnia.=0D=0A=0D=0AFor "Night Shifts 6", Hamburg-based artists Anja Dietmann and Gesa=0D=0ATroch present a collective evening ritual in a public space with their=0D=0Aperformance "Sky of Sheets," exploring themes of transformation and=0D=0Apassage. Gesa Troch’s textile work will be brought to life together=0D=0Awith the audience, constantly shifting between forms – intimate=0D=0Abedding, a protective cave, or a monumental celestial canopy. These=0D=0Atransformations create ever-new spaces for the audience and serve as=0D=0Astages for Anja Dietmann’s poetic texts and songs, which artfully=0D=0Ablend the bizarre and the mundane. Berlin-based artist Nschotschi=0D=0AHaslinger enriches the evening with a performative intervention.=0D=0A=0D=0AOn Saturday, October 10th at 6:30 PM, we will gather at sunset at the=0D=0AKönigstraße S-Bahn station (Behnstraße exit). There, the audience=0D=0Awill be welcomed by the three night watchwomen – Rosanna Graf, Lisa=0D=0AKlosterkötter, and Special Guest Philipp Joy Reinhardt.=0D=0A
