We’ll show you in practical terms how=0D=0Ayou can break free.=0D=0A=0D=0ACCC Hansestadt Hamburg e.V. and the Wau Holland Foundation are=0D=0Aorganising the first Digital Independence Days in Hamburg from 2 to 4=0D=0AOctober, in collaboration with Hamburg neighbourhood initiatives,=0D=0Amaker and hacker spaces, and other civil society organisations from=0D=0Athe region.=0D=0A=0D=0AYou can look forward to a programme centred on digital independence:=0D=0Amessaging apps, office software, or your own cloud.=0D=0A=0D=0ADigital Independence=0D=0A=0D=0AIn December 2025, the Digital Independence Day initiative was launched=0D=0Ato show everyone ways to break free from Big Tech: better messaging=0D=0Aapps, better office software, independent cloud services.=0D=0AIn over 100 towns and cities in Germany and beyond, events featuring=0D=0Atalks, workshops and discussion sessions are held regularly on the=0D=0Afirst Sunday of every month. And on DIDAY.org, you’ll find plenty of=0D=0Ainformation on how to make the switch to more open alternatives=0D=0Ayourself.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe aim is to equip you with greater competence and autonomy in=0D=0Adealing with modern technology.=0D=0A=0D=0ADIDAYS – A weekend of digital self-determination=0D=0A=0D=0AOver the weekend of 2–4 October, these and even more topics will be=0D=0Acovered in a compact format: talks, workshops and discussions amongst=0D=0Ainterested participants. As well as the practical ‘how’, we also=0D=0Awant to discuss social and political issues, such as the impact of=0D=0Aartificial intelligence, or the digitalisation of Hamburg’s city and=0D=0Alocal government. We’ve been able to secure the Kultur Palast=0D=0AHarburg as our venue. From Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon,=0D=0Avisitors will have the chance to learn, through talks and workshops,=0D=0Ahow they can become more independent.
