SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Exhibition opening: Yalda Afsah – Temper
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Whether it be spiritual ceremonies, seasonal festivities or rituals of=0D=0Ainitiation and transition – customs and rites count among=0D=0Ahumanity’s oldest practices. They foster temporary communities, help=0D=0Astructure emotions and enable forms of belonging that often defy=0D=0Arational explanation. Conversely, they also reveal how closely=0D=0Acollective practices may be connected to marginalization, disciplinary=0D=0Apower and violence. In her latest series of works, the German-Iranian=0D=0Aartist Yalda Afsah navigates precisely within this area of tension.=0D=0AShe explores rituals and their role as social and physical=0D=0Achoreographies, in the scope of which universal questions of power,=0D=0Aidentity and community come to the fore. In her solo exhibition at the=0D=0AKunsthaus Hamburg, she is for the first time presenting the films=0D=0AJARRAMPLAS (2024), PAN (2026) and HEAT (2026) together. Based on=0D=0Aresearch into local ritual practices in Spain, Bulgaria and Taiwan,=0D=0Athe works examine how societal orders and collective experiences=0D=0Amanifest themselves in performative acts.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe exhibition opening takes place as part of Crossing Currents, the=0D=0Afirst Hamburg Art Week. From 9 pm, F0vian will be playing a mix of=0D=0Awarm, fragmented textures, obscure trip-hop and eclectic string sounds=0D=0Ain the foyer.=0D=0A
