SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:SCHAU!
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The exhibition “SCHAU!” at nachtspeicher23 features drawings and=0D=0Avideo works that have been displayed in the project space’s shop=0D=0Awindow over the past few months.=0D=0A=0D=0AIn May, June and July 2026, a total of three drawing duos were=0D=0Aexhibited as part of the INSIDE DRAFTSWOMEN series. Initiated by=0D=0AChristine Brey, the series has, since 2019, served as a platform for=0D=0Acontemporary drawing and fosters dialogue between different artistic=0D=0Apositions and perspectives.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe shop window was also used as an exhibition space for media art.=0D=0AThe video works, curated by Faezeh Nikoozad, bring together pieces=0D=0Athat deliberately operate without sound and explore the theme of=0D=0Aencounter – whether as a gaze, distance, closeness or silent=0D=0Acoexistence. In doing so, the shop window itself became a place of=0D=0Aencounter between the inside and the outside.=0D=0A=0D=0AWhat previously complemented one another through the changing shop=0D=0Awindow displays now comes together in this exhibition. The=0D=0Ajuxtaposition of drawing and video opens up a space in which different=0D=0Atemporalities and modes of perception no longer merely coexist. In=0D=0Athis interplay, new encounters and connections emerge – between the=0D=0Aartistic positions as well as between medium, gaze and space – which=0D=0Ashift and renegotiate one another.=0D=0A=0D=0AAs part of Hamburg Art Week, the works are now being presented=0D=0Atogether for the first time in the exhibition space. On display are=0D=0Aworks by Vanessa Hartmann, Si-Ying Fung, Sylvie Ringer, Simone=0D=0AKesting, Nazgol Emami, Sana Ghobbeh, Amirali Ghasemi, Sin Seeni, Simin=0D=0AYaqubi and a special guest.=0D=0A=0D=0AThere will also be a performance by Lubi Barre, which forms part of=0D=0Athe ‘PULSE’ performance programme (Sat 5 Sept at 7 pm):=0D=0A=0D=0A‘The Mona Lisa Syndrome’ is a literary installation with a live=0D=0Areading that explores the intertwining of childhood, migration, memory=0D=0Aand motherhood through personal memories, diaries, photographs,=0D=0Aobjects and audio recordings. Taking as its starting point a trip to=0D=0AParis with her sons, the work shows how different childhoods persist=0D=0Asimultaneously across generations and geographical spaces, whilst=0D=0Ashaping one another.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe annual programme at nachtspeicher23 is funded by the Department of=0D=0ACulture and Media of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.=0D=0A
