SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Jack Halberstam: Keynote: Anarchitecture After Everything
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:In his latest book, “Anarchitecture After Everything”, Jack=0D=0AHalberstam revisits the radical architectural interventions of Gordon=0D=0AMatta-Clark and the ‘Anarchitecture’ movement, reinterpreting them=0D=0Athrough the lens of transness. Cutting, opening, removing and=0D=0Aunbuilding are thus seen not as acts of destruction, but as=0D=0Atransformative practices that enable new ways of inhabiting bodies,=0D=0Aspaces and worlds. In the context of the extensive refurbishment of=0D=0AKampnagel, this perspective takes on a particular urgency. When walls=0D=0Aare opened up, structures exposed and spaces reimagined, the building=0D=0Asite itself becomes a field of artistic, social and political=0D=0Apossibilities. Halberstam’s keynote explores how practices of=0D=0Abreaking open and dismantling can disrupt existing orders and create=0D=0Aopenings for new social, political and embodied futures. The building=0D=0Asite is seen not as a state of deficiency or interruption, but as a=0D=0Aproductive condition of becoming.=0D=0A
