SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Daniel Dominguez Teruel: Big Moment #1: Spatenstich
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The ceremonial groundbreaking traditionally marks the symbolic=0D=0Abeginning of a construction project – a moment poised between vision=0D=0Aand realization, ritual and departure. At Kampnagel, the=0D=0AGROUNDBREAKING also marks the first of the so-called Big Moments: a=0D=0Aseries of key milestones in the construction process that will be=0D=0Aopened to the public and accompanied by artistic interventions. For=0D=0Athe GROUNDBREAKING, we have invited Hamburg-based music theatre=0D=0Adirector and composer Daniel Dominguez Teruel to stage and reflect=0D=0Aupon this unique moment. Daniel Dominguez Teruel has a keen=0D=0Asensitivity to the power of symbols and their representation. His work=0D=0Arepeatedly explores the social and political dimensions of rituals, as=0D=0Awell as the sonic and spatial logics inherent in architecture. For the=0D=0AGROUNDBREAKING, he is creating a new ritual that artistically frames,=0D=0Acomments on, and expands the ceremonial act of departure and new=0D=0Abeginnings. In this way, the symbolic beginning of the construction=0D=0Aprocess itself becomes the subject of artistic inquiry. Featuring=0D=0Aspeeches by Minister of State for Culture and the Media Dr. Wolfram=0D=0AWeimer, Hamburg’s Minister of Culture Dr. Carsten Brosda, the=0D=0AManaging Director of Sprinkenhof GmbH Martin Sowinski, the architects=0D=0ALacaton & Vassal, Kampnagel Artistic Director Amelie Deuflhard and=0D=0ACommercial Managing Director Dr. Jonas Zipf.=0D=0A
