SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:A Human Song
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:This large-scale participatory art project brings together people of=0D=0Adifferent ages, cultures, and backgrounds from Hamburg and the=0D=0Asurrounding region. The poetic event explores the power of the body: a=0D=0Asea of people moving forward through the meditative act of walking and=0D=0Arunning together, supporting and accompanying one another, lying down,=0D=0Arebelling, and rising again. "A Human Song" is inspired by wandering=0D=0Awithout a destination. Starting with a single spatial movement, a wave=0D=0Aof people moves from one end to the other and then begins again—in=0D=0Aan individual and collective circular motion. A choreographic score=0D=0Abrings together artists and local communities to share paths of=0D=0Acollective creation. The performance aims to initiate processes for=0D=0Athe formation of temporary communities to support one another and be=0D=0Ainclusive.=0D=0A=0D=0AChiara Frigo, choreographer and performer, is a co-founder of the=0D=0AZebra Cultural Zoo. Her artistic interests lie in dance and the=0D=0Aperforming arts. After graduating with a degree in molecular biology,=0D=0Ashe participated in international research projects and collaborated=0D=0Awith SNDO in Amsterdam, the Dance Centre in Vancouver, The Place in=0D=0ALondon, Dansateliers in Rotterdam, Dansescenen in Copenhagen, and Paso=0D=0Aa 2-Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid. In 2010, she began collaborating=0D=0Awith the Circuit Est Choreographic Centre in Montreal, where she has=0D=0Asince been a guest production resident. Her piece "Himalaya" marked=0D=0Athe beginning of her research into themes related to spirituality in=0D=0Aart. "Blackbird," a collaborative project, is inspired by art as a=0D=0Aform of activism and as a form of collective artistic creation.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe performance is made possible with the kind support of the Italian=0D=0AMinistry of Culture, Direzione generale Spettacolo, and with the=0D=0Asupport of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Hamburg.=0D=0A
