SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Nathan Ott 4tett: Coltrane 100
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:JazzAmen presents:=0D=0ANathan Ott 4tet – Coltrane 100=0D=0A=0D=0ATo mark the 100th anniversary of John Coltrane's birth on September=0D=0A23, 2026, Nathan Ott presents a quartet that draws inspiration from=0D=0AColtrane's thinking without reproducing it. Not a copying of his=0D=0Aclassics, but rather a musical exploration in the spirit of Coltrane.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe starting point is Coltrane's late work: not as a repertoire, but=0D=0Aas an idea. As an openness with the courage to change. Christof Lauer=0D=0A(tenor and soprano saxophone), Camila Nebbia (tenor saxophone), Jonas=0D=0AWestergaard (bass) and Nathan Ott (drums) come together with this=0D=0Aattitude: musicians from different generations and backgrounds.=0D=0A=0D=0ANathan Ott's drumming creates space and agility, blending composition=0D=0Aand improvisation into an open structure. Lauer's expressive sound=0D=0Alanguage, Camila Nebbia's striking energy, and Westergaard's elastic,=0D=0Apresent bass lines unfold into a dense, highly communicative music.=0D=0A=0D=0AWhat emerges live is not a tribute in the classical sense, but music=0D=0Ain the spirit of Coltrane: exploratory and carried by inner tension.=0D=0A=0D=0AChristof Lauer - tenor & soprano saxophone=0D=0ACamila Nebbia - tenor saxophone=0D=0AJonas Westergaard - bass=0D=0ANathan Ott - drums=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0AJAZZAMEN is a concert series presented by the Kulturkirche Altona in=0D=0Acooperation with the Evangelical Lutheran Parish of Altona-East.
