The referendum on the future in October 2025 showed that Hamburg's citizens want more climate protection. However, the gap between supporters and opponents seems deep. How can a transformation succeed even when positions are divided? How can we reconcile and negotiate different interests? We want to find out at this year's Sustainability Forum, now in its third year. Participation is important to us: We want to engage in dialogue with our participants!
We are delighted that Katharina Fegebank, Second Mayor and Senator for the Environment of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, will be giving a welcoming address. Lou Töllner, spokesperson for the Hamburg Future Referendum, will also tell us how she was able to mobilize so many supporters.
Lykke Leonardson from Copenhagen is working to adapt her city to the consequences of climate change and will give us fascinating insights into her work. Dr. Fritz Reusswig will address the resistance that sustainability transformations often encounter: What are the reasons for this, and what counter-strategies exist? Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Marcel Hunecke will discuss our psychological resources for socio-ecological transformation. Prof. Dr. Petra Naujoks from HAW Hamburg will introduce us to the sustainability competencies that our graduates need: How are these competencies taught, and how can transformative learning be achieved?
We look forward to lively discussions with you!
