Workshop "Native wild herbs"

  • from 30.00€ to 50.00€

Under the guidance of Jenny Dietel, botanist and biologist, you will learn more about native wild plants: how to recognize them, what properties they have and how they have been used for generations - in the kitchen, in the medicine chest or in everyday life. Many of the plants we look at grow inconspicuously by the wayside - and yet they have been part of our knowledge of food and medicinal plants for centuries.

Discover the world of wild herbs - plant knowledge from nature

An amazing variety of plants grow right on our doorstep: inconspicuous, often overlooked - and yet full of history, flavor and healing powers. In our wild herb workshop, we explore this living plant world of the region together.

Under the guidance of Jenny Dietel, botanist and biologist, you will get to know local wild plants better: how to recognize them, what properties they have and how they have been used for generations - in the kitchen, in the medicine chest or in everyday life. Many of the plants we look at grow inconspicuously by the wayside - and yet they have been part of our knowledge of food and medicinal plants for centuries.

After a brief introduction to botanical basics, we go out together into the countryside around the farm. In the heathland of the Griesen region, we discover the plants in their natural habitat, learn to distinguish their characteristics and collect selected seasonal herbs.

Back at the farm, we process the collected plants together. We use the herbs to create simple, seasonal dishes, which we prepare together and then enjoy together. Depending on the season and plants, we also make another small natural product, for example incense bundles, herbal extracts or natural household products.

In addition to practical knowledge, we develop a mindful view of our native flora. We talk about how wild plants can be collected respectfully, what role they play in their habitats and how we can treat them with appreciation.

The workshop combines botanical knowledge, practical activities and direct experience of nature - and aims to encourage people to rediscover the plants on their own doorstep.
