Warhaus feat. Julien Libeer

When a singer-songwriter meets a piano virtuoso: Maarten Devoldere, aka Warhaus, and classical concert pianist Julien Libeer explore the repertoire of Devoldere’s solo project together, creating a sophisticated, captivating reinterpretation of Warhaus’s songs on their musical journey.

Alongside greats like Stromae, Lost Frequencies, and Gotye, Warhaus is considered an indispensable Belgian export hit. In 2016, Devoldere—previously known primarily as the singer and guitarist of the band Balthazar—launched his solo project and has since unfolded his dark, cinematic sound across four studio albums, in which influences like Nick Cave and Tom Waits resonate between the lines. With his latest LP, »Karaoke Moon« (2024), the Belgian artist invites listeners even deeper into his dreamy, contemplative worlds. The first single, »Where The Names Are Real,« with its spoken-word-style narrative of first love, underscores the atmospheric intensity of his music—the unmistakable hallmark of Warhaus.

His duet partner for this special concert is Julien Libeer. The classical pianist is known for his profound musical approach, his expressive style of interpretation, and his keen sensitivity to the works he performs. Born in the tranquil West Flemish city of Kortrijk, the musician studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and now regularly performs at major international venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Barbican Hall in London, the Elbphilharmonie, and the Palau de la Música in Barcelona. For his works and collaborations, the pianist has already received the 2017 Echo Klassik Award and the 2016 Diapason d’Or de l’Année.
