Finally back as guests of the Kammermusikfreunde: the young »iconoclasts« play Mozart’s first »Prussian« quartet and Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 7 entirely from memory, using their freedom from music stands to deliver an even more intense, highly expressive performance. And the second half of their programme does not follow the rules of classical concert performance at all: surrounded by lighting and sound technology, the four young musicians play new pieces from their new album »In the Fields«, which they composed and arranged themselves. Special guest: Iranian composer and guitarist Mahan Mirarab, who builds a unique bridge between Persian musical tradition and contemporary European chamber music. Inspired by folk, pop, rock, funk, minimalist and singer-songwriter music, the five embark on a journey to find their very own sound. With four string instruments plus a double-neck guitar, they create a world of sound full of surprises. A musical adventure beyond classical music, inspired by personal experiences and subtle impressions of different cultures.
