Austrian cellist Valerie Fritz loves the extraordinary, the unusual. Even at the beginning of her studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, she knew that a classical career with the standard repertoire was not for her. The young artist’s self-confidence has already taken her a long way: nominated by the Elbphilharmonie, among others, she is one of this season’s »Rising Star« of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO). Together with accordionist Goran Stevanovich, she explores the concert situation spatially, acoustically and at an interpersonal level with music ranging from Schumann to the present day.
