The wild ones by the wayside - public herb tour on Easter Saturday

So many scents, flavors and vitamins. Every green has its own special magic powers. Come with us on a herb hike!
On this herbal tour of the open-air museum led by Anne-Katrin Schmiedehaus-Engel, visitors will learn all sorts of interesting and mystical facts about the power of flowers, leaves, and roots, as well as about vitamins and nature’s little home remedy cabinet.
Ms. Schmiedehaus-Engel runs a naturopathic practice and an herbal school. She leads engaging tours through the meadows of the museum grounds, where participants can discover, experience, and taste our native medicinal and wild herbs. Depending on the season, weather, and prior arrangement, participants will enjoy their own unique herbal experience.
Dates for the 2026 season: May 9, June 13, August 15, September 19, October 10. The meeting point is at 11 a.m. at the museum ticket office.
Cost: Adults: 12 euros each plus reduced museum admission of 3.50 euros; children and teens up to age 17: 6.00 euros each plus reduced museum admission of 1.50 euros.

Organize your own custom herb tour or herb workshop! Prices for herb walks are as listed above. For groups of children and students, two accompanying adults receive free museum admission. Herb workshops with Ms. Schmiedehaus-Engel on various topics typically cost 25 euros per person plus 3.50 euros for reduced-rate museum admission.
