Murrels are friendly and shaggy creatures that live in dunes all over the world. Wherever there is sand and dunes, there are very likely to be murrelets. They respect all living creatures on earth and live in harmony with nature. Our little family of murrelets lives in a dune on the Baltic Sea beach near Rostock. They love to sing funny children's songs, tell stories and discover the world. That's why they founded the children's song band "Die Murkels". Have fun discovering, listening and watching.
The Murkels' music is characterized by a wide range of musical styles and witty lyrics. The songs encourage creativity, language, perception and concentration in children from the age of 3 and make them want to move, sing along and discover.
The music is presented live by Papa Murkel, Tobias Wolff and Sascha Sauerborn. The songs are built up and played using various instruments, voices and a loop device. This allows Papa Murkel to explain the structures of the music and the world of sounds.
