Symposium for local chroniclers in Grevesmühlen

In the opening lecture, Stefan Pohlke will focus on the history of the Dassow poorhouse and infirmary.
Menno Dirks, who will talk about "Cycling in Mecklenburg", will deal with the history of transportation and everyday life.
Torsten Hauk will present the work of the munitions salvage service in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern - and explain why he seeks close cooperation with local chroniclers.
The afternoon of the conference will then focus on source work. During his guided tour of the district archive, district archivist Kevin Nehls will present the work of Eckart Redersborg, the local chronicler of Grevesmühlen who died this year and was the first person to receive the Mecklenburg Foundation's award for special services to the preservation and communication of Mecklenburg's cultural heritage in 2017.
The Rostock historian Dr. Reno Stutz will discuss the possibilities and limitations of interviews with contemporary witnesses when working on a local chronicle.
A fee of EUR 10.00 will be charged for participation.
