Classical Music
Symphoniker Hamburg / Chamber Concert
Thursday, 16/10/2025 / 07:30 PM - 09:30 PM / Laeiszhalle (Kleiner Saal)
On this chamber music Thursday evening, works from three centuries will be performed, opening up a cosmos full of timbres. The concert begins with Henry Purcell’s Chaconne in G minor in Benjamin Britten’s subtle arrangement. This is followed by Ferruccio Busoni’s rarely performed Suite in G minor for clarinet and string quartet – a work that combines classical formal rigor with late Romantic expression. Luigi Boccherini’s String Quintet in B-flat major No. 1 brings the charming, lively Italian elegance of the 18th century to the stage, before a late Romantic masterpiece concludes the evening: Johannes Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet in B minor, famous for its lyrical depth and chamber music density.
