FLORIAN GALOW 6 INGOLF BURKHARDT - "GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK" Or: What else you can learn at a jazz concert
Two jazz musicians, two instruments, the "Great American Songbook"
as their repertoire. Bass and trumpet, a lot of love, dedication and
experience are the ingredients for this project, which was created especially for the
"Schweriner Jazznacht" 2025 by organizer Marianne Wöhrle
.
Florian Galow, renowned and versatile bassist, creator and
organizer of the now nationally renowned cultural center
"Waldzimmer" in his adopted home of Lübeck, and Ingolf Burkhardt,
trumpet soloist with the NDR Bigband in
Hamburg for 35 years (not only!), conjure up a not quite everyday
jazz menu from these ingredients. The special feature is not just their own
interpretation of this music - that's common in jazz and that's how it should be.
Rather, the two will explain and explain backgrounds, anecdotes and lots of
interesting facts about the creation of the
pieces they play, as well as the peculiarities of their instruments and
playing together. The fact that the two
are also fellow countrymen from Baden makes the whole thing even more interesting
