School Concert »Yıldırım & Avital«

School Concert »Yıldırım & Avital«

  • for families and kids
  • 5.00€

Two stars encounter each other here: firstly, Hamburg native Derya Yıldırım, who sings and accompanies herself on the bağlama lute; secondly, Israeli mandolinist Avi Avital, who plays European baroque music with the same enthusiasm as more recent music from all over the world. They are both charismatic virtuosos, they both play an instrument from the lute family and they love bringing different musical cultures together. Along with the equally adventurous string players from Ensemble Resonanz, they span a wide arc in this moderated concert: they play classical music, Anatolian folk music and a completely new composition by Yıldırım’s teacher Taner Akyol, with whom she has been friends for years.
