    Concert reading in Schwerin

    We cordially invite you to a reading and concert at the Schleswig-Holstein-Haus in Schwerin on January 23rd.

    It is about the reunion of Paul Celan and Ilana Shmueli since their youth. They experienced the time of the Shoah very differently and were shaped for life. Ilana emigrated with her family to what was then Palestine and experienced all phases of the newly founded state, from society and culture to politics.

    Paul's parents were murdered by the Nazis. He refers to his Jewish roots and his origins in Czernowice.

    This project is an emotional search for traces of the Jewish poet. It is an experience report that reflects the affection and love the two had for each other.
