The ensemble SONORO - CONSORT cordially invites you to a discussion concert at the Schleswig-Holstein-Haus Schwerin, Puschkinstraße 12.
This concert project, the ensemble's guest performance program for 2026, is dedicated to music from the Middle Ages to the end of the 18th century. The performers will present rarely heard works by renowned European composers. The musicians are deliberately focusing on the subject of minnesong from the High Middle Ages. The occasion is the 700th anniversary of the death of the minstrel Wizlaw III of Rügen, the only surviving minstrel of the Baltic region and the last ruler of Rügen. They carefully attempt to project some of Wizlaw's songs, which have survived in the Jena song manuscript from the 14th century, into the 21st century in a historically adapted form as Middle High German song poetry with a convincing musical and tonal sound.
In this 100-minute moderated program, both popular and very rarely performed rarities of music history will be played on historical musical instruments that are only occasionally heard. The interested audience can look forward to the performance of the gemshorn, Hümmelchen, lute and the keyed fiddle, Swedish nyckelharpa or Italian viola d'amore a cheri. Viola d'amore a chiavi.
Admission to the concert starts at 2.30 pm. Tickets at EUR 15,--, reduced 12,-- can be pre-ordered at the mail account: sonoro-consort-mv@web.de and phone: 0176.210 219 50. The box office opens at 2 pm.
