Mecklenburg - Pomeranian Folklore Ensemble "Richard Wossidlo

  • open air concert

More than 50 years of folklore ensemble - that means more than 50 years of careful handling of tradition of our ancestors, their songs, dances, customs and traditional costumes.

All this has become ours over the years, because we, the following generations, want to remember these traditions, want to preserve what promotes the identity of a Mecklenburger-Pommeraner.Proud are the girls and boys, the women and men aged from 4 to over 80 years on what we have preserved and acquired with the support of many. We keep these treasures from boxes and chests, this knowledge not only for us - we pass it on through our performances in now all German landscapes, in Europe and overseas. From people in the villages of Mecklenburg and Vorpommern we have directly adopted dances and songs they danced and sang in their youth, we have been given the old traditional costumes.Folklorists have supported our efforts, staff in museums have advised us, hand weavers have helped us to create all that we present today on floorboards, lawns and stages. Some games and customs found their way back into everyday culture through our suggestions - a high demand - a great task "Danzen und Singen, dat makt uns väl Spaß, in Mäkelborg und Vorpommern ja dor sünd wi to Hus".
