Exhibition
KLAUS STAECK IN HAMBURG – Political posters – Five decades of art and politics
Sunday, 01/03/2026 / 01:00 AM - 11:45 PM / Treffpunkt: Kennedybrücke
- Free of charge
From February 26, 2026, iconic political posters by Klaus Staeck will be on display in public spaces throughout Hamburg. The
Hamburg poster competition Anfachen Award is dedicating an open-air retrospective to its patron.
To mark Staeck's 88th birthday, 77 poster motifs will be presented at three central locations: on the Kennedy Bridge, behind the main train station, and in front of City Hall. Themes such as housing shortages, social inequality, and environmental destruction run through the artist's work – many motifs were created decades ago and are still shockingly relevant today. The exhibition shows political poster art as a direct intervention in public space – controversial, clear, and democratic.
LOCATIONS On the Kennedy Bridge (Dammtor) · Behind the main train station (Schauspielhaus) · Next to the Reesendamm Bridge / in front of City Hall
