What could be in the mysterious package that suddenly lands on Mrs. Waas's little island of Lummerland? It was actually meant for Sorrowland!
Curious, the villagers opened the package and discovered a baby inside: Jim Button. Many years later, Jim has grown up. Together with his best friend Luke the Engine Driver and the puffing locomotive Emma, he happily chugs around the island.
But one day, King Alfons the Quarter-to-Twelve announces: Lummerland has become too small. Lukas and Emma must leave the island! For Jim, it's immediately clear: He won't leave his friends alone and sets sail with them out into the wide world.
On their journey, they encounter the Emperor of China, the mysterious giant Mr. Tur Tur, and Nepomuk, the friendly half-dragon. They must be brave, solve tricky tasks, and overcome great dangers. For the Emperor's daughter, Li Si, desperately needs their help!
