Interior design meets church interior

Interior design students present creative works for the interior of Kirch Mummendorf church - from visual installations to sound and thought-provoking impulses. After a short welcome with sparkling wine and pretzels, visitors can explore all the stations and talk to the designers.

From the nave right up to the historic roof, Kirch Mummendorf church is opening its doors for a special exhibition: the budding interior designers from Wismar University of Applied Sciences are presenting their intensive examination of the interior of this thousand-year-old building. The result is a diverse collection of works that allow visitors to experience the church interior in very different ways - visually, aurally and intellectually.

Visitors encounter installations, models and concepts that sometimes seriously, sometimes poetically, sometimes surprisingly open up new perspectives on a space that has long been devoid of life.

The evening begins with a short laudatory speech and a warm welcome from the Förderkreis, accompanied by sparkling wine and pretzels. Afterwards, the church invites you to go on a journey of discovery: On several levels and at various stations, the students personally explain their ideas, backgrounds and design approaches.

This creates a lively exchange about the future of a place that has been important to the village for centuries - and is now being rethought.
