Alohomora! The new play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" opens up to you. The Broadway-acclaimed play is now also thrilling at Hamburg's Theater am Großmarkt. Experience breathtaking magic at "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," "the most spectacular show ever seen in a theater" (Süddeutsche Zeitung). The eighth story in the Harry Potter saga is the only one you can only experience live at the Theater am Großmarkt in Hamburg.
There's a lot of magic going on in the world of Harry Potter, and this translates to the stage of the performance. With surprising effects and impressive scenery, the audience is amazed: Wasn't there real magic at work?
The play is musically accompanied by four suites, each of which characterizes one of the plays' acts. Grammy and Ivor Novello Award winner Imogen Heap created the music specifically for HARRY POTTER and the Cursed Child.
Nineteen years after the events at Hogwarts made famous by the books and films, Harry Potter is a 37-year-old father of three and works in the Law Enforcement Department of the Ministry of Magic. The youngest son, Albus Severus, follows in the awed footsteps of his father, who once won the heroic battle against Lord Voldemort, at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry Potter's past keeps catching up with him, as his son, of all people, befriends the son of his former archenemy, Draco Malfoy. In a thrilling twist, Albus steals a Time-Turner against Harry Potter's wishes, merging the past with the present. The country's long-fought peace is in jeopardy, and Harry Potter's adventure continues with plenty of magic, numerous dark spells, and ultimately the hope that everything will turn out for the best.
