A SchauSpielRaum production together with Shared Leadership in Dance (SLiD)

Premiere on 30/10/2025 / Large Stage Wiesendamm

Perhaps the time has come, and we have already entered a time of which people will later say: Do you remember the time when bodies became taboo and touch was lost? It was replaced by likes. Touch has begun to be disturbing: Too close, too suggestive, too curious, too freedom-loving, too sensual—simply too dangerous! Yet there has always been a great longing to be touched by something or someone, to experience security, to feel connected—with the world, with the person I'm with, with the raindrop that touches my fingertip.

With bodies touching and never at a loss for words, three choreographers defy disembodiment. They not only overturn the law of human distance, they also demand a rethinking of touch and ask: What is the relationship between touching and being touched? What feelings and fears are associated with it? What arises in the moment of touch – a world, my world, my body, myself? Jenny Beyer, Antje Pfundtner, and URSina Tossi invite young people to imagine alternative presents and explore forms of touch as encounter and communication. Young dancers between 14 and 21 stop at no body and stretch their feelers far and wide. Whether human, air, or stone, whether sensual or symbolic, they touch it, hold it, let it go, and approach it again. Every now and then, as if it were the most normal thing in the world, they say: Hello, I want to be touched. It doesn't have to be for long, but I'd love to touch it now.
