Ms. Pieper (Wiebke Ehlers), a cleaner at the Henning company, finds her boss (Georg Sellhorn) stabbed to death in his office. When Detective Brockmann (Peter Quade), whom she knows from the past, arrives, the body has disappeared. Nevertheless, Brockmann begins his investigation, and gradually all the company employees become suspects, including Ms. Pieper.
Especially through the older secretary, Miss Gerdes (Silke Nehrlich), who had a crush on Henning, secret relationships and animosities within the company come to light. Authorized signatory Westphal (Dieter Buhmann) hates Henning and loves his wife, but is exonerated. Suspicion then falls on Mrs. Henning (Maren Liebschner) and her lover, Herbert Kronen, as well as Miss Gerdes and her younger colleague, Miss Reinhold (Mareike Lüdersen), until Henning suddenly reappears in the office.
But who is the dead man, where has he gone? Did Mrs. Pieper see ghosts?
