Demonstrations on Wednesdays in July from 1 - 4 pm. Immerse yourself in the living and working world of the villagers around 1900.

Museum employees dress up in peasant clothing from the 1900s and demonstrate everyday household and farm chores in our museum village. The demonstrations take place every Wednesday from July 2 to 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. in front of the Büdnerei and Hirtenkaten directly behind the museum entrance.

On July 2 and 16, the motto is: "White linen in the wardrobe, serious thinking in the heart"

As the epitome and symbol of female diligence and virtue, immense value was placed on linen and keeping it clean and decorated. The demonstrations offer an insight into the effort and energy required for a washing and drying cycle and the diligence with which the laundry was "marked" with the initials of the woman.

On July 9 and 23, the motto is: "Botter gew 't blot Sünndaags"

Butter was a particularly valuable foodstuff, and several sources bear witness to its sparing use and the strict regulations on who received how many sticks of butter. The demonstrations show the elaborate work steps from the cream to the finished, shaped and decorated butter. But what would butter be without bread? That's why dough preparation and kneading in the traditional baking mill will also be part of the demonstrations.
