Second "reflektor - Festival of Communication with inclusion activist Raúl Aguayo-Krauthausen as keynote speaker
From April 8 to 10, 2025, the Faculty of Design at Wismar University of Applied Sciences invites you to its three-day specialist event "reflektor - Festival of Communication" on the university campus (Philipp-Müller-Straße 14, Haus 7, 23966 Wismar). The topic of "Inclusion and Exclusion" will be examined in specialist lectures, workshops and panel discussions with a focus on design-relevant issues and placed at the center of the festival program with theoretical and practical components. The festival is organized by a team of students and lecturers from the Communication Design and Media course in an interdisciplinary manner.
Informing, positioning, discussing, exchanging
One of the highlights of the festival on the very first day will be the keynote speech by inclusion activist Raúl Aguayo-Krauthausen. The topic of "Civil Society - Challenges of Inclusion and Diversity" will be discussed on the panel on the evening of the second day of the festival. Opportunities for informal networking at evening celebrations or alumni events are also planned. The aim is to deal with the issues of inclusion and exclusion, for example in order to better align design and communication accordingly or to be able to deal with this topic in a more socially sensitive way.
Register and take part
Participation is free of charge and the festival is open to all interested people. The event language is predominantly German, individual program items will be simultaneously transcribed. English-language or bilingual program items are also planned and marked accordingly.
In particular, people from the theory and practice of design, students, pupils from the 11th grade and teachers are invited. Teachers can have the event recognized as further training.
