The 2nd castle christmas on 15 - 17 December 2023 at the castle courtyard in Plau am See. We take visitors on a journey to times long past with this Christmas market. To see and marvel at there are great crafts, music, many hands-on activities for young and old, theater of a very special kind and much, much more.
Where winter lives - legends and tales from the far north.
Winter comes with ice and snow, from the far north, where the sun does not shine for months at this time. It is the home of strange creatures, strange and beautiful. We bring these legends to you, but not only this: You can also discover ghostly creatures, dwarves, fairies, gods, trolls and much more up close with your eyes, ears and hands.
The excitement continues with the Feather Spirit Theater. Mr. Blüterich with his magic feather show and his supernatural abilities will cast a spell over the small as well as the big human beings. During his wish picking events, Mr. Blüterich will take the children's wishes with his magic wand and his partner Klara Phyll will then send them up into the sky to the elves and Santa Claus.
What could be more fitting for this time of year than a "Dance of the Fireflies". The true magic of the fireflies can be seen on starry fairy nights when they dance gracefully with the elves in the moonlight across the castle grounds.
Also the duo Insanis Daemonibus makes its rounds over the event area and admonish young and old to be well-behaved. Good deeds are rewarded and bad deeds punished with small gifts or with scolding. In addition, the duo Insanis Daemonibus offers an extraordinary musical program, presented with a lot of humor and fun.
Further musical entertainment will be provided by the music formatio "Bene Vobis".
They are one of the most unusual medieval bands and play for the Christmas festival and in the evening visitors can look forward to a spectacular fantasy and fire theater.
A fantastic parade is also presented by the "Streetbirds". A mobile theater full of glitter and shine. Giant figures up to four meters high, symbolizing the sun, moon and stars, move seemingly floating and at the same time fascinating on the Christmas market, which is full of light.
In addition to the beautiful merchant and artisan stalls, food and drink should not be neglected. Freshly roasted almonds, grilled and flaming salmon as well as garlic bread, sweet treats and delicious hot drinks will ensure the well-being of our visitors.
So now hurry up dear people and enjoy three eventful days on the beautiful Plau castle grounds with free admission.
