Brass spectacle in the countryside
Saturday, 06/07/2024 / 03:00 PM - 10:00 PM / Freilichtmuseum Schwerin-Mueß
It gets loud. And it's going to be blatant. 150 brass players are coming to the 1st North German Brass Band Meeting at the Mueß Open Air Museum.
The blades of grass and trees bend on the museum meadow. People surround the stage under the walnut tree and tap their feet. At a special kind of "picnic concert". Five North German brass bands play everything from Bach to Wagner to modern hip-hop beats, making the hearts of music lovers and musicians beat faster and faster.
On July 6, the first meeting of all five brass bands from northern Germany will take place at the open-air museum in Schwerin Mueß from 3 pm. The host is the current German youth brass band champion "PotzBlech" from the ATARAXIA e.V. music and art school. In a relaxed atmosphere, the audience can enjoy inspiring music from several extraordinary ensembles.
The sound of a brass band is particularly powerful and diverse due to its special line-up of over 30 brass players and percussionists.
At around 8 p.m., all 150 musicians will form what is probably Germany's largest brass band in a grand finale and bring the evening to a musical close together.
Coffee, cake and drinks will be provided. In addition, "Die Wildhelden" will be preparing hearty delicacies. Museum visitors on the day benefit twice over. They can see all the museum exhibitions for one low-cost museum ticket and can also enjoy the entire festival day.
