Brad Mehldau is one of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz piano. He combines improvisation with structure, freedom with rigour, jazz with classical and pop, and his own songs with new, often daring interpretations of other people’s music. In Brad Mehldau’s solo concert at the Elbphilharmonie, will play his »14 Reveries«, among other pieces. The pianist himself described these little musical reveries as »distillations of emotions«.
